Tarangire National Park is the 6th largest national park in Tanzania; it is located in Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season.

It covers an area of approximately 2,850 km². The landscape is composed of granitic ridges, river valley, and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of acacia woodland, commiphora-combretum woodland, seasonally flooded grassland, and baobab trees.Tarangire National Park offers the panoramic views of savannah grasslands, the iconic landscapes of open acacia woodland lined with baobab trees and those huge elephant herds of as many as 300 at a time. Yet it offers these without the accompaniment of too many other people You will see a big number of elephants, zebras and wildebeests around the river and swamps coming here for water, that is what also gets lot of predators like African Lion, cheetah, leopard, honey badger, African wild dog, caracal here for a hunt and so you can witness a lot of game  sightings in the Tarangire National Park

Thr impala are in large numbers as well end aree easily sported. Others are eland, buffalo, end giraffes, bohor reedbuck,thimson’s gazelle, greater end lesser kudu and the coke’s hartebeest,you mey get luck to spot on really spices to sport as a gerenuck and fringe –eared oryx are also seen
