6 Days Umbwe Route
Tour Overview
The Umbwe route is one of the quickest yet most direct approaches to the Southern Glaciers, with views of forests, valleys, amazing flora, and glaciers. However, hikers must be pre-acclimatized before attempting this route, especially if choosing to summit via Western Breach, since you climb altitude extremely quickly over a shorter distance. This, however, does not imply that the Umbwe Path is a difficult route up Kilimanjaro. Many opting for this route are experienced mountaineers who will summit via the technical Western Breach approach instead of the standard southern circuit approach via Barafu.
